[naewoeilbo내외일보]Lee Su Han 이수한 기자=Within the context of the public diplomacy, the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Korea organized the Open House program “Welcome to Oman” in cooperation with the Education office of the Seoul Metropolitan office. The program held on 27 August where the Embassy hosted a number of students from Sangam School, Teachers and officials from the Education department of Seoul metropolitan office.
His Excellency Mohamed Al Harthy, the ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Korea, welcomed the guests and delivered lecture titled “Oman the country of Sindbad and Land of Luban” which highlighted the historical and cultural aspects of Oman. He also viewed the modern renaissance of Oman, the tourism attractions, Omani-Korean relations and the Omani experience dialogue and peace based on understanding, tolerance and coexistence.
The audience enjoyed the Omani architecture embodied in the embassy building and toured its museum, which is full of heritage exhibits, paintings, calligraphy, manuscripts and various books. The students also enjoyed hands-on experience of the cultural aspects of Oman and hospitality then concluded with a question and answered session about Oman. The ambassador then presented souvenirs to the students and presented souvouniers and books to the school library.
