[naewoeilbo내외일보] Lee Su Han이수한 기자 = KOTAM, Korea Transportation Asset Management is set to raise $185 million in a global renewable fund, which US-based BlackRock will manage on its behalf.
5 Korean institutional investors participate in this fund, which is the largest scale investment on renewable power, KOTAM said on April 22.
Global Renewable Power Fund III (GRP III) is the blind pool fund which raises US $4.8 billion from over 100 institutional investors globally.
The fund invests in global climate infrastructure assets, primarily in renewable power generation, across Americas, Europe and Asia.
Its opportunity set reflects the evolving renewable energy market as well as investors’ growing interest in investments that support the transition to a low carbon economy.
KOTAM is a joint venture between KMARIN (Kukje Maritime Investment Corp.) and KEB Hana Bank. KOTAM has been focusing on ship and aircraft investments and now diversifies to alternative investment. Last year KOTAM launched $800 million blind pool fund that invests in overseas infrastructure loans and recently launched cross border acquisition finance debt fund.
